Must-Haves

After scouring Pinterest and every baby book I could get my hands on, I was convinced right before we had Henry that I had acquired every possible item a baby could want. As it turns out, I had way more than I even needed! There is nothing more exciting to me than walking up and down the baby aisles, choosing every cute item available that I am immediately convinced I "have" to have. After surviving 9 months with Henry, I wanted to share some of the products that I absolutely loved and believe are worth every penny.

First off, I honestly do not know what I would do without my Boppy. This nursing pillow is so fantastic, and it helps position your little one during breastfeeding- making them comfy and making feeding so much easier. I bought the Boppy Bare Naked Pillow, and then my mom made covers to fit it! You can also find adorable covers on sites like Etsy, with one of my favorite shops being KB Cute.

Another item I use on daily basis is actually a piece of furniture- my rocking chair. My mom found this chair and surprised me by slip covering it in that adorable turquoise pattern. This chair is so comfortable and is perfect when Henry wakes up in the middle of the night and needs rocked back to sleep. Usually, we're both noddin off during those 3 AM wake up calls!

I recommend checking Craigslist and your local thrift stores for some affordable yet quality furniture pieces for your nursery. Every piece of furniture in Henry's room was found on Craigslist, from Facebook Swap Shops, or at the Salvation Army. I even found a dresser for $10 that I spruced up with some white paint and knobs from Hobby Lobby!

Whenever I hear someone mention diaper rash, I only have two words for them: Butt Paste. This stuff has been a LIFESAVER. If he's a little red we just put some of this stuff on and it's almost instantly better. Definitely a must-have product for our home. Not only do we love it, we got a kick out of putting it on our registry- being the mature adults that we are :)

Bottles on bottles on bottles. We were very fortunate to receive quite a few bottles from baby showers, in both the smaller and larger sizes. We decided to register for Dr. Brown's Natural Flow Standard Bottles and I am so glad that we did. Our little guy had some gas issues at first, and the design of these bottles helps to eliminate air mixing into the breastmilk/formula, while also preserving nutrients. These bottles also have different size nipples to accommodate your baby as they're growing.

Also seen in this picture is our Boon Grass Drying Rack, which I am obsessed with. It's a convenient spot to throw your bottles that allows them to air dry, with the rack underneath catching all of the water. With my OCD and love of organization, this product has been amazing!

Another 2 for 1 pic here- our vibrating Bouncer and sleep sacks. This Ingenuity Automatic Bouncer is so freakin great, and Henry basically lived in it as a newborn (when I decided I had to put him down eventually and be semi-productive). This seat has surprisingly long-lasting battery power, and lightly bounces your little one, all the while having soft, comfy fabric and a newborn insert.

I was also so grateful that we received multiple sleep sacks from family and friends. Henry absolutely hated being swaddled from day 1, but being born in the end of October in Missouri meant cold nights ahead. These sleep sacks keep them covered while also allowing them to wiggle all around. Definitely a win-win. Carters has so many adorable sleep sack options, with the softest fabrics. My husband used to joke about how jealous he was and wanted his own- and no doubt, I'd sleep in one too!

A big ol' diaper bag. I debated between larger and smaller options, and I was so glad I decided to go with a larger bag. Most days, I just throw my wallet, keys, and phone in with all Henry's stuff and go on my way. With so much space and so many pockets, I can easily fit anything I need for the day or pack an overnight bag. Diaper bags have also gotten so adorable with all of the different patterns and designs, that it pretty much felt like purse shopping (with a nice excuse attached- it's for the baby!). I finally decided on this bag from Carters, and a similar one can be found here.

While there are still other baby essentials you'll want to register for or pick up (like diapers, obviously) these are some of the products that I used on a daily basis and really found essential. Thanks so much for reading, and please share if you have any other beloved baby items!
